ABA Social Media Design System

ABA General Social Design System

Based on the ABA Brand Guidelines, and a recent change in the Instagram profile grid layout, I was given the opportunity to develop an updated, modern, and most importantly, flexible design system for use in multiple social campaigns. This system uses familiar design elements for the American Bar Association.

My contribution was in approaching varieties of layout, including typography, patterning, graphic elements, and image selection. This is a small selection of the content that can be found in use on all of the ABA social media channels.

More important than day to day images, is specialized content such as image carousels which features content written by copy-writing focused teammates in AP style.

Carousels have been designed to also be flexible, and for each to be developed into a flexible template to drive speedy but creative content production workflows. These content pieces are purpose built to entice readers while also promoting ABA content, no matter the length or style.

Some carousels are typographic design focused, while others rely more heavily on images to carry the design. But each version of carousel layouts have been developed specifically to capture different styles of content, whether type, image, or a blend of both, while giving enough flexibility to display information in the most ideal way.
